Cristalla Condo Building
What is living at Cristalla like?
Cristalla, rising 23 stories at 2nd & Lenora in Belltown, offers a rare blend of graceful history and modern luxury in the heart of downtown Seattle. The building preserves the terra‑cotta facade of the old Crystal Pool Natatorium and its glass dome, while providing sweeping views of Elliott Bay, the Space Needle, the Olympics and city lights in many units. Its residences range from studios to sprawling penthouses with high‑end finishes, hardwood floors and abundant natural light. Amenities read like a curated wish list: 24‑hour concierge and secure entry, multiple rooftop terraces with fireplaces and grilling stations, a full spa (sauna, steam, whirlpool), private theater, club room, business center, yoga space and pet‑friendly features. Location is king: stroll to Pike Place Market, groceries, high‑end restaurants, arts & culture, transit hubs and major highways with ease for both daily life and refined enjoyment.

Brian’s Review of Cristalla
The pros:
Cristalla Condos offers a variety of popular amenities
Cristalla has air rights over the adjacent parcel, providing protected Elliott Bay views
The rooftop terrace is probably one of the best in the city, with great views and several distinct areas to hang out, relax, cook, and more
On the edge of Pike Place and Belltown neighborhoods, walk to downtown, SLU, retail, the best food and drink in the city
Most units have views of either the Puget Sound or Seattle’s skyline. Even the lower units often have views thanks to short (but relatively new) buildings across the street and alley.
The concierge desk is staffed 24 hours a day
Guest suite available for friends/family
Some of the one-bedroom units have layouts with well-sized dens and an extra ½ bath
The cons:
Bedroom sizes can be small in some of the layouts
Structural pillars in some of the units can get in the way of furniture planning and obstruct views
Overall Opinion
If I were considering a condo at Cristalla, here is what I’d say: this is a rare gem finishing high among Seattle’s downtown luxury options and mostly delivers on its promise of style, comfort and location—but like all luxe living there are trade‑offs one should know before writing a check. You’ll fall in love with the architecture, the preserved terra‑cotta façade of the old Crystal Pool, the grand lobby, and almost all units offer views of the Sound, Elliott Bay or the city skyline, many with private balconies or decks. Amenities are superb: 24‑hour concierge, rooftop terraces with fireplaces and decks, spa / sauna / hot tub, theater, fitness center, guest suite, dog run—all built for people who expect more. The walk‑score is nearly perfect and you are unbeatably close to Pike Place, the waterfront, cultural hotspots, transit and major arteries for commuting, making almost everything within reach without a car. On the flip side expect HOA dues that reflect that level of luxury: many units carry fees in the high nine or low four figures monthly depending on size and amenities. Some floor plans have quirks—smaller bedrooms, odd pillar placements, or partial obstruction in southern views as new nearby buildings rise. Parking is available but sometimes limited and expensive; storage is often extra. All things considered if you value elevated urban life, convenience and architectural charm and don’t mind paying for it, Cristalla is probably among your top picks in downtown Seattle.

About the Cristalla Condo Building
Cristalla, rising at 2033 2nd Avenue in Seattle’s Belltown, is where heritage meets high‑design with unapologetic confidence. Built in 2005 by developer Murray Franklyn and conceived by Weber + Thompson, this 23‑story luxury condominium occupies the site of the Crystal Pool Natatorium, a salt‑water swim house and Italian Renaissance edifice erected in 1906. In order to honor that past, Cristalla preserved the original terra cotta facade and stylized the glass dome to echo the original domed entry, even though most of the old pool structure was replaced. The name “Cristalla” nods to the “Crystal” in Crystal Pool while giving a sense of crystal clarity and sleek luxury befitting a building built for panoramic views of Elliott Bay, the Olympics, and the city skyline. The architecture mixes bold forms and modern materials such as cast‑in‑place concrete, glass railings and floor‑to‑ceiling glazing with the warmth of hardwood floors and finely detailed historic ornamentation. To secure those views, Cristalla went so far as to purchase air rights above a neighboring lot so that future development would not block its western outlooks for residents. From its grand two‑story water feature in the lobby to its penthouses crowning the tower, Cristalla is more than a building: it’s a statement in glass, stone, and ambition for those who demand comfort, style, and sophisticated access to downtown.
